It must be fascinating to see other people travelling abroad and visiting different beautiful places. However, to travel abroad, either for a small visit or for studying, one must do a lot of research and must prepare well for the trip. There are a number of things that one should know before making a tough decision especially when it comes to studying abroad.

Below are few things to keep in mind before travelling/studying abroad:

Be informed-
There's no harm in researching and collecting information about your travel destination. Having a bunch of information about the cultural practices and religious belief, local food and other things will help you prepare well for your trip.

Also, do a research about the university and the course they are offering. Once all your doubt is cleared and are sure about the university, you can apply higher studies at the university.

Health and safety-
Health is the basic thing everyone requires in life. Before travelling abroad for higher studies, ensure that you are in good health. Pay a visit to your doctor, double check your health and ensure that you have all the proper vaccinations before your journey.

For your safety, ensure that you have all the required documents for travel purpose, like, Valid passport and visa, make sure that you take photocopies of your passport incase of any emergency.

While travelling, ensure that you do not carry any restricted items with you to avoid any kind of misunderstanding.

Money-
Before you begin with your journey to study abroad, ensure that you have enough money in your bank account in case of any emergency.

Make sure that you convert enough money for your travel and always have the country's local cash in hand as not every place accepts Credit/Debit cards.

Accommodation and food-
For everyone to have a comfortable stay in another country, the local people provide the required accommodations. Before you start proceeding with your decision to move abroad, ensure that you have the proper accommodations and get proper food in other country. Though people are now exposed to various cuisines, we would suggest that you become flexible to various cuisines so that you won't face any problem with the food.

Planning and Responsibilities-
To begin with any journey, one must plan the trip accordingly. If you are going to pursue your higher studies abroad, make sure that you do a lot of research related to the education, university, and the cultural practices of the country.

Packing for studying abroad- While packing for your trip, ensure that you pack only the things which you really needed. Do not excess your luggage with unnecessary packing.

Remember, the luggage capacity for students travelling abroad is 40kg check-in plus 10kg cabin baggage. However, this does depend on the airlines you are travelling on.

Carry all the personal items like dental care, personal hygiene, grooming kit, first aid kit, carry your medicine with prescription if you are under any medication, general medicines for fever, cold, cough, seasonal allergies, etc.

When it comes to clothing, remember to keep your summer as well as winter clothes ready as other countries have different climate characteristics. Also, do carry your ethnic wear, as you might need them for any festival celebration.

Keep your stationery ready with pens, pencils, notebooks, and other items.

HIV report
40-50 passport size photographs.
Medical certificates
Admission letter from the university
Country's local currency
